Importing and Exporting Tips

Chinese motorcycles are popping up in many countries as a lower cost alternative to the Japanese manufacturers. Quality is constantly getting better and some Chinese factories are setting up proper distribution and service networks overseas. It is only a matter of time that nobody will bat an eyelash when they see their neighbor purchase a Chinese made motorcycle. It is still early and I don't think it is too late to get on the band wagon and start importing motorcycles to sell in your city or country. Imagine if you were one of the first to start selling Honda motorcycles back in the days.....

I will start to post some tips on importing and exporting motorcycles so that you can understand what is actually required to do such a thing. At first it may seem intimidating, but there are some agents that can also help you if you want a bit more security. These agents can make sure that you are dealing with reputable manufacturers, check on the packing and delivery, and make sure that you are getting a good price. Agents will also help you with EEC or Dot documentation so that you will have a smooth import entry when your motorcycles arrive. Contracts can vary from manufacturers and you will want to have some support from the factory on spare parts and warranty issues which an experienced agent can negotiate for you on your behalf.

Keep checking back, and I will write some more about my experiences.
